“Rubina By Night” is a short experimental documentary about the day in the life of Rudra Bahadur Bhujel, a young transgender woman, born as a boy. Rudra migrated from the lowlands of Nepal, the Terai, headlong into the hustle and bustle of very urban Kathmandu. She came for education, and for work. The discrimination she faced in employment hasn’t stopped her from trying to achieve her goals. Currently she earns her money as a sex worker, and each afternoon she transforms herself to go out into the Kathmandu night to ply her trade.
